RADA 2025 Corset project

based on the 1735-50 fully boned corset held by The National Trust at Berrington Hall ( part of the Charles Paget Wade Collection). It has 10 panels and a stomacher.

 

I adapted the corset to be worn in a contemporary setting- a female violin player in a folk/rock band whose whole aesthetic was grey/black grunge linen.

 

I have designed and made all the stage costumes for this band over a number of years, each year being slightly different to the previous.

 

The lace up feature of the corset is something that can translate into the outfits of the rest of the band.
